Group therapy provides a safe and confidential place in which to share and explore concerns, as well as receive support around various issues. CAPS offers several groups including process-oriented groups (helps people cope and provides opportunity for change and growth), support groups (helps people cope and problem solve), and psychoeducational groups (provides information about a topic and provides support).
Below you will find links to our current group therapy and support group offerings. Each listing includes a brief description, with days and times, and contact information for the group facilitators. If you are interested in a group or have questions, please contact the group facilitator(s). Most of our groups require a 20 minute meeting prior to group where you will learn more and decide with the facilitator(s) if it is the best "fit" for you. Groups meet weekly, usually after the second week of the term, and participants have the option of contining the following term. Groups are available for all registered students. The fees you pay with tuition cover the cost of CAPS services, so there is no additional cost to participate.
If you are not sure which group may be best for you, please contact our Groups Coordinator, Emi Sumida, Ph.D., who will be able to assist you in choosing a group appropriate for your needs.
Please let us know if you will need any disability related accommodations in order to participate in our groups.
