Evaluation and feedback is an ongoing process. CAPS training staff discusses and evaluates practicum counselor progress throughout the academic year. Supervisors and practicum counselors will identify supervisory and clinical goals. Supervisors are responsible for facilitating comprehensive practicum counselor evaluations. A formal written evaluation process takes place at the end of each academic quarter or semester during the practicum experience using the competency-based Evaluation Forms developed by their home programs. Though other evaluative documentation might be included, the program's Evaluation Form is the basis for making the determination of practicum progress.
Practicum counselors will complete written evaluations of their experiences with their supervisors, along with an evaluation of the Practicum Training Program as a whole. Each practicum counselor meets with their supervisor at the end of the quarter to review and discuss these evaluations.
