My therapeutic style uses a relational cultural approach guided by multicultural and feminist therapy frameworks. I place a focus on taking my clients’ present, past, and historical contexts into consideration, as well as the ways privilege and oppression have shown up in their lives, to better understand their distress so I can suggest therapeutic strategies that may be a good fit for them. During this process, I like to be as collaborative with my clients as possible because they are the true experts on themselves and will know what is working for them or what may need tweaking. I most often employ therapeutic strategies from Relational Cultural Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
