On-Campus Discovery Walks

Discover on-campus walking routes that explore the rich environment at OSU.

Covered Bridge

Level: easy 2.8 mile out and back path

Directions:

  • Starting in the MU quad, head north on SW 26th street
  • Turn left on SW Campus way
  • Follow the sidewalk out past the animal science buildings to where the side walk becomes a paved roadway

Ready for a longer excursion? Continue on the covered bridge path until you meet 53rd street. Cross 53rd street at the light to connect with the Midge Cramer path in the Benton County Fair Grounds parking lot. This paved path will connect with the Bald Hill Trail.

Bald Hill

Level: moderate 3.6 mile loop to the top of Bald Hill; 452ft elevation gain

Directions:

From the OSU Corvallis Campus

  • Head north from campus on 30th or 26th street, (or take Monroe to 21st, 23rd or 25th street) turn left on Harrison st
  • Continue straight onto NW Oak Creek drive until you reach the Bald Hill parking lot

Trail Map

McDonald-Dunn Forest

Level: easy to moderate hikes depending on trail

Located just 15 minutes north of Corvallis, there are over 20 miles of trails open for hiking and biking.

Directions:

  • From Corvallis campus, head north on Pacific Highway 99
  • Turn left onto Lewisburg Avenue
  • Turn right on Sulphur Springs Road, follow to the parking lot to access multiple trails
