Caring for Yourself During Election Season
Presidential elections are pivotal moments for our nation and for us as individuals. The heightened emotions, stress, and uncertainty surrounding elections can make this a particularly challenging time. We encourage you to take time to focus on your mental health so you can stay grounded and navigate this period with resilience. Whether it's managing media exposure, talking with supportive friends, or engaging in activities that help you recharge, taking care of yourself is essential. We hope you will find these resources helpful for supporting your mental health during the election period:

After the election, our Post-Election Empowerment Plan can help you reflect on the election results, set personal goals, and find ways to stay engaged and empowered. It also includes self-care resources, a list of campus offices where you can get support, and crisis resources.
We are here to help if you need additional emotional support. If you have an urgent mental health need, call CAPS 24/7 at 541-737-2131 or drop by our office during on-call clinic hours, Monday-Friday 10am to 4pm.
