CAPS Student Advisory Board

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the CAPS Advisory Board! As a student, your voice is most important in shaping how we address mental health at OSU.

As a member of the Advisory Board, you’ll play a crucial role in advising the Director of Counseling & Psychological Services on various aspects, including:

  • Enhancing CAPS services and support.
  • Participating in hiring selections through invitations to serve on search committees.
  • Providing input on CAPS strategic initiatives.
  • Addressing campus mental health issues.

To apply, you need to:

  • Be an enrolled OSU student who pays student fees.
  • Commit to one hour every other week for board meetings during the fall, winter, and spring terms, with times based on board availability.
  • Be willing to serve a minimum one-year term if selected.

We’re looking for a diverse group of students, including undergraduates, graduate students, and those from historically underserved communities such as BIPOC students, veterans, international students, and students with high financial need.

The Board is student-run, with a Chair and Vice-Chair (or Co-Chairs) elected to lead. They’ll guide new members, promote CAPS successes, collaborate on agenda items, help develop the annual CAPS budget, and assist with various projects throughout the year.

Interested? Apply now and become a vital part of shaping the future of CAPS at OSU.
